Why choose a British School?
The British educational system has achieved a worldwide reputation for quality and is renowned for concerning itself with the development of the whole personality. Learning is important, but not enough in itself. Young people need to develop their potential to explore and discover the world around them, to think for themselves and form opinions, to relate to others, to develop their bodies through sport and physical education, and to gain experience in taking responsibility.
A British education emphasises musical education as playing a important role in a child´s overall development, intellectually, socially and emotionally, offering creative challenges and aesthetic appreciation as well as self-expression and self-discovery opportunities.
The British National Curriculum has a clearly defined series of academic and cognitive objectives at every level, known as the Key Stages and attainment at these stages in measured by standardised tests.
Finally, the General Certificate of Secondary Education and A-levels are possibly the most prestigious secondary certificates in the world and grant access to the most distinguished universities in the world.
Parents who choose O Castro International British School can be sure that the standards will be comparable to the UK, where Government monitoring of the unified curriculum guarantees quality.
