Palaeontology is the main theme in the V Science Week at O Castro British School

Palaeontology has a very strong presence in the Science Week, so we are holding informative talks on the world of palaeontology with the aim to explain in a simple way what fossils are, how they are studied and what information they give us.

The students of Reception (4 yrs. old), Year 1 (5 yrs. old) and Year 7 (11 yrs. old) enjoyed today learning from Manuel García Ávila (President of the Asociación Gallega de Paleontología and Bienvenido Díez, one of the main experts in ancient palaeontology, who came today to O Castro British School to take a deeper look at this Science with our Early Years, Primary and Secondary students

Furthermore, our Year 8 students enjoyed yesterday a fascinating talk on Marine Palaeontology signed by Adolfo Fernández, Vice Dean at the Universidad del Mar, specialized in marine palaeontology from the Roman age until the present time.

Electricity, solar energy, marine biology, microbiology, top engineering from Marine Instruments, biochemistry, ophthalmology, pharmacy or the fascinating world of volcanos, were some of the other topics seen in practical talks and amusing workshops in O Castro British School’s Science Week.
