In 2007, O Castro British School was the first and only British school in Galicia. It was certified by the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS) and accredited by the British council. Two years ago, O Castro took a step forward towards the international reach of its educational model. It was certified as a Cambridge International School becoming, once again, the only Cambridge school in Galicia.
This recognition implies that our students and assessed by the University of Cambridge in all the core subjects of the British curriculum and they obtain certificates issued directly by the institution. At the end of each Key Stage, our students carry out the Cambridge Checkpoints, which are standardised tests that provide feedback on a student's strengths and areas for development in key curriculum areas and compare their results with thousands of students worldwide.
At the end of Secondary School, O Castro British School students will take the Cambridge A-Levels. These exams, which will give our students access to any university in the world, such as Oxford, Cambridge, MIT, Stanford, Harvard or Tokyo, are without a doubt the most prestigious university entrance exams available. Undoubtedly, the certificate issued by O Castro British School offers a value-added differentiation.
